

Revd Nigel Thomas Team Vicar of the Parish of Cleeve with Claverham Nigel arrived in September 2018 as Team Vicar of the parish of Cleeve with Claverham. He has the added responsibility of encouraging and developing lay ministry across the team and acts as chaplain to Court de Wyck Church School. Nigel is from South Wales where he trained initially for Baptist ministry. He was ordained in Carlisle Diocese in 1997 and has served in parishes in Cumbria, the Yorkshire Dales, Cornwall and Pembrokeshire. Chaplaincy posts include a hospital and a livestock market. He spent six years in Dorset, initially as part of the Franciscan community at Hilfield Friary, then as chaplain to The Verne IRC and HMP Portland whilst somehow finding time to be a Life & Learning mentor on a therapeutic care farm. Nigel is married to Nickie Fidgin. Nickie has worked for many years as a pastoral musician, using singing to help build community and a sense of wellbeing. She is also a qualified labyrinth facilitator, and works with schools, retreat centres, church and community groups using the labyrinth as a tool for prayer and spiritual reflection. She has been an active campaigner on justice and peace issues and has toured with several Christian Aid roadshows. ![]() | Revd Fran Binding House for Duty Priest for the Parishes of Kenn and Kingston Seymour within Yatton Moor Team Ministry Fran was Licensed as a House for Duty Priest on 3rd August 2020. She has prime responsibility for the communities and churches of Kenn and Kingston Seymour as well as holding a Team-wide brief to work collaboratively and ecumenically on Open the Book and Messy Church initiatives. Before joining the team, Fran has served in the Hereford and Worcester Diocese as well as Bath and Wells. Prior to that she was a secondary school music teacher in Leicestershire and Shropshire. Fran has also been chaplain at Charlton Farm Children's Hospice, Chaplain to the Mayor of Worcester and Rural Dean in Worcester City with specific responsibility for clergy pastoral care. She is also a trustee of the charity Secondary Education to Encourage Development (SEED) that works in and around Iringa in Tanzania and an Associate member of the Iona Community. Revd Avril Gaunt Assistant Priest Avril Gaunt has lived in the Yatton Moor area with her husband Richard and two sons for nearly 25 years. She has been a committed Christian for most of her life. In 1995 Avril was ordained a Deacon followed by ordination to the Priesthood in 1997 and serves as a non stipendiary minister in our team, having previously been a Hospital Chaplain. | ![]() |
