|Revd Avril Gaunt|
Avril Gaunt has lived in the Yatton Moor area with her husband Richard and two sons for nearly 25 years. She has been a committed Christian for most of her life. In 1995 Avril was ordained a Deacon followed by ordination to the Priesthood in 1997 serving as a non stidendary minister in our team until 2000.
Having been a nurse for many years she always felt called to minister to the sick so it was a natural progression to move into chaplaincy work when the opportunity arose. As a chaplain Avril works as part of a team at Southmead and Frenchay Hospitals where they offer themselves as a first contact for everyone`s spiritual and pastoral needs be they patients, staff and visitors and of all religions and none.
Local folk will often say they miss seeing Avril about the villages, but they certainly appreciate seeing a familiar face in what can be a very worrying and distressing environment. Do let Avril know if you ever find yourself in this situation!
